Prathap
Founder & Lead Content Strategist, ourkitchen.in

About Me Hi, I’m Prathap. Based in Chennai, my journey into kitchen technology started with a simple frustration: while searching for reliable appliance reviews for the Indian market, I realized almost everything out there was just disguised brand promotion. There were virtually no genuinely unbiased, data-backed resources built for our specific needs.
So, I decided to build one.
I hold a B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering, which gave me a deep-rooted understanding of food science, thermodynamics, and how things are built from the ground up. I pair that engineering foundation with the technical writing expertise I developed through the IIM SKILLS Master Content Writing program. Instead of just rewriting product manuals, I use my background to break down exactly how modern kitchen gadgets work and whether they actually justify their price tag.
How I Review I don’t just write about appliances; I reverse-engineer them.
Rather than relying on manufacturer claims, my review process is anchored in the realities of the Indian kitchen. I look past the shiny exterior to evaluate the metrics that actually impact your daily cooking. That means testing thermal efficiency, measuring power draw and socket amperage for compatibility with standard Indian electrical grids, and analyzing how heating elements and non-stick coatings hold up to heavy, spice-rich cooking over time. My goal is to give you the exact technical breakdowns and real-world performance data you need to make the right choice for your home.
My Current Obsession Right now, my absolute focus is Air Fryers. With over 40 deep-dive articles and reviews already published on the site, I am constantly testing new recipes, comparing convection models, and breaking down rapid air technology to help you find the perfect fit. If I had to pick one kitchen tool I couldn’t live without right now, the air fryer wins every time.
